YouTube star Adalia Rose has died at the age of 15, with her family penning a heartbreaking message.
The teenager, who had a following of almost three million on YouTube, had Hutchinson-Gilford progeria, a genetic condition also known as Benjamin Button disease, and was diagnosed when she was three-months-old.
It’s a rare, fatal condition and is categorised by accelerated ageing.
A statement on her social media reads: ‘January 12, 2022 at 7pm Adalia Rose Williams was set free from this world.
‘She came into it quietly and left quietly, but her life was far from it. She touched MILLIONS of people and left the biggest imprint in everyone that knew her. She is no longer in pain and is now dancing away to all the music she loves.
‘I really wish this wasn’t our reality but unfortunately it is. We want to say thank you to everyone that loved and supported her. Thank you to all her doctors and nurses that worked for YEARS to keep her healthy.
‘The family would now like to mourn this huge loss in private.’
Tributes have poured in, with one viewer writing: ‘My heart breaks to hear this. I was lucky to have met her and to see how amazing she was. She touched so many people with her amazing energy. I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. I will be keeping you in my prayers. Rest in paradise angel.’
Another added: ‘Rest In Peace sweet Adalia. Your light and love will live on forever.’
One more said: ‘I’m so so sorry. She brought joy and smiles to so many and will be missed. ❤️ We we’re so lucky to have her in our lives.’
Adalia inspired millions with her videos, with the teenager sharing tutorials, life updates, and more on her channel.
About 500 children worldwide are affected by Hutchinson-Gilford progeria. People with the condition have an average life expectancy of 13 years.
