A 32-year-old woman was buried in her wedding dress after dying suddenly just three months before she was due to tie the knot.
Jessica Morrell, from Shepley near Huddersfield in west Yorkshire, died suddenly at home on June 1 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Her heartbroken mum Olga has paid an emotional tribute to her ‘caring and thoughtful’ daughter who had a wide circle of friends and ‘lived life to the full’.
Olga said everyone had been left devastated by Jessica’s death.
She told Yorkshire Live that Jessica had been due to get married in September at the 315 Bar and Restaurant in Lepton, Huddersfield.
Jessica had chosen a beautiful wedding dress and was thrilled to be getting married to her boyfriend of eight years.
Tragically, Jessica had only collected her dress a week before she died.
“She was so excited about the wedding. She was nervous but excited. She really knew what she wanted. It is all she dreamed of.
“She had been going out with her boyfriend for eight years.
“We buried Jessica in her wedding dress.”
Jessica was described by her mum Olga as a ‘larger than life character’ who loved chatting, socialising, and collecting perfumes and handbags.
“She had many friends from all walks of life. She spent a lot of time with friends and doing voluntary work with elderly people at Huddersfield Town Hall where they loved her.
“She was a lovely daughter. From the moment she was born, my life changed. Everything was 100mph.
“She was a force of nature. She was so full of life and lived life to the full.
“She had a lot of confidence and everybody loved her.”
Olga said 75 people had attended the wake, which was held at the 315 venue where Jessica was due to be married on September 3.
She said many people had been in touch to express their sadness and how much Jessica had meant to them.
“Teachers have been in touch and have sent cards and said what a wonderful, caring girl she was.”
Friends have paid tribute to Jessica, calling her a kind and caring young woman.
