Despite the security challenges the southeast is passing through due to the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), there may be indications that a new terror group has emerged in the region.
In the video making waves on the internet, a group of armed men who identified themselves as ‘ Angry Vipers’ , were seen issuing threats to Obi Cubana and the Southeast Governors. According to the video, the armed group said they gave the southeast Governors a one- week ultimatum to effect the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Why Igbos Should Put Hands Together To Bring Down ‘ Angry Vipers’
From the video, the Angry Vipers were about 11 or 12 armed men. This may suggest that they are still few. It becomes very important for efforts to be made to nip them in the bud before they start gathering more members.
- They May Add Pepper To Injury If Not Arrested
The southeast has been going through a lot in the hands of the IPOB; there have been killings of innocent lives and destructions of Government properties in the region.
Then imagine if Angry Vipers are allowed to start operating in the region. I think that should be adding pepper to injury, making the security situation of the region worse.
I believe the Igbos can not afford to stay and watch their land being destroyed by criminals. Hence the need to take quick action against the situation.
- They Need To Be Arrested For Not Respecting Southeast Governors

If you watch the video, you would see how the so- called Angry Vipers were talking to Southeast Governors in a very derogatory manner, they were just talking to them like children.
So I think if they should have such guts to talk to Southeast Governors in that manner, it may be difficult for them to have anybody they would respect in that region. If they don’ t have anybody they respect there, it means there may be nobody to call them to order whenever there is need. This is why they need to be nipped in the bud, because they may be deadly.
- For Threatening Obi Cubana
Based on how Obi Cubana is always being celebrated on social media by both Igbos and non- Igbos, it means people love him, possibly because of his good character.
So, for Angry Vipers to extend their threat to such a man loved by many shows that they are enemies of the masses, and shouldn’ t be given free hand.
The Way Forward
Since their video was shared on social media before it was able to circulate, I guess it may be possible to trace the first social media account that posted the video.
So, to save the southeast from danger, I urge everyone both within the region and outside the region, to put hands together to trace the first social media account that shared the video.
What’ s your suggestion about this?
Is there any other way you think the Angry Vipers would be traced?
