For some time ago, the Ebonyi State has had a lot of cases of human trafficking. Around September of this year, the State police apprehended some persons because they had forcefully taken some minors to Ghana just to abuse them. These trafficked children were later sought for, by the Ebonyi police which led to their freedom.
In an identical case to this, the police had arrested several in the State for this inhumane action. Nevertheless, there are still silent cases of human trafficking still going on in the State.
The police have, however, increased their efforts in putting these cases to a halt. The case about some who were nabbed by the police recently shows they are taking these cases seriously and are putting actions to stop the cases.
It was made known that the police caught some persons after they suspected and later found out that what they are doing is inhumane. It was said that the police arrested these persons after they were trying to hide two babies so that they would not be noticed.
But the police later got to know. They checked them and later found out that babies were secretly kept by the traffickers.
Why Police Should Ensure That These Human Traffickers Face The Law
Human trafficking is just like kidnapping because they all have to do with an act of forcefully taking innocent people away. However, there is a little dissimilarity between these two.
Unlike kidnapping, human trafficking means taking someone forcefully away from his or her abode to a faraway place to be cruelly used for lard labor so that the trafficker can be collecting money as a result of the labor. Human trafficking means using or selling human lives to get money.
There is no doubt that the arrested victims have been planning to sell these babies until they were caught.
The human traffickers must face the law because their crime is not an ordinary one. They have probably wanted to sell these babies but it is good news that the police had caught them and are now in their station.
