Former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Senator Shehu Sani, has mourned the Emir of Kontagora.
Recall that the Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora, Niger State, Alhaji Saidu Umaru Namaska, died at the age of 84, having spent 47 years on the throne.
The Emir’s death came three months after bandits gunned down his son during an attack on the monarch’s farm.
Senator Shehu Sani wrote on his verified Facebook wall on Thursday; “The Emir of Kontagora, His Royal Highness Alhaji Saidu Namaska quietly left us and returned to his creator.
“He stepped out in times of turbulence and storms. He has seen the best and the worst of the seasons.
“He lost his son in a Kingdom and a region that has lost its peace.
“He was a scion of a Kingdom of indomitable warriors and invincible fighters.
“He exited the scene unbowed leaving behind the flag of victory for this generation to charge ahead.
“The greatest honor to his spirit, memory and legacy is for his Kingdom to remain unconquered and unconquerable in the face of all challenges.
“May Allah grant him Al Jannah Firdaus.Amin.”
