According to Punch News, Some bandits have invaded a community in Katsina State on Sunday, the 21st of November, when they reportedly killed four persons in Barawa village, Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
We learned that the residents of the village, which is less than 10 kilometers from Katsina, the state capital, was said to have been invaded by the bandits when they arrived at the village on motorcycles around 8. 45 pm on Sunday, which they operated for about two hours before leaving for another town.
From the villager’ s report, we learned that four victims included an old woman who was identified as one Liliya Dahiru and a man named Isiyaku Abdulkadir who was killed during the attack.
It was also gathered that two other victims were unfortunate as they ran into the Gunmen in a neighboring community, Bakiyawa, which they were gunned down.
A middle- aged man who identified himself as Abdulmainu Yakubu, who was able to escape narrowly from the Gunmen while narrating his ordeal said, ” Three of the gunmen pointed guns at me and the injury on my face is from their riffles. ”
Another resident, who withheld his name while speaking with a News correspondent said, ” Our people were visited with violence yesterday (Sunday) night in Barawa community, where bandits numbering about 100 wreaked havoc from 9 pm to 10. 30 pm. They killed and looted without any hindrance and there was no help from security operatives.
” We have dead bodies, three males and one female. The bandits went from house- to- house rustling cows and other domestic animals. They also took money and food items. ”
One of the residents Bello Musa had to hand over the sum of N410, 000 and his motorcycle including his domestic animals in other to avoid being killed by the violent criminals.
However, four victims have already been buried on Monday morning, while security operatives have been mobilized to the area in other to restore peace and order.
The Katsina State Police Command spokesman SP Gambo Isah had also confirmed the incident while speaking with a News correspondent on Monday.
