KFC has been forced to apologise after a mum claims she opened up a bucket of popcorn chicken to find bits of a used face mask inside.
Chloe Small was left disgusted after she ordered the meal from the chain’s Nuneaton branch on Sunday.
She first noticed what looked like a strip of a dirty face covering on the outside of the box.
But when she opened it up she was horrified to discover even smaller bits of the mask tucked in between the chicken inside.
Chloe, from Nuneaton, told Coventry Live : “I am not sure if it was a used facemask or how it even ended up in there.
“It is disgusting.”
The mum says she complained to the company to save other customers from a similar ordeal.
And she wants an investigation launched into what exactly went wrong.
KFC has admitted that they hold their “hands up” and apologised for the disgusting incident.
The fast food chain has confirmed in a statement that they will be probing what happened at the branch and said it took “food safety” very seriously.
A KFC Spokesperson said: “ Hands up…This isn’t great. We’re sorry for Chloe’s experience, food safety is really important to us so we’re looking into what happened and working with her to make it right.”
