Met police officer faces nine more charges on top of 20 he already faced

The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised Hertfordshire Constabulary to charge David Carrick with nine additional offences

Metropolitan Police officer David Carrick has been charged with nine more offences, including six counts of rape.

This takes the total number of charges he faces to 29, the Crown Prosecution Service said on Monday.

The new charges cover six counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, one count of assault by penetration and one count of coercive and controlling behaviour.

They relate to four women and are alleged to have taken place between 2009 and 2018.
