A manhunt has been launched in the West Midlands for a suspect wanted on suspicion of stabbing and kidnapping a woman.
Police are urgently hunting a man wanted on suspicion of stabbing and kidnapping the woman and warn he could be ‘armed and dangerous’.
West Midlands Police have released an image of Lee Martin, aged 41, who is suspected of kidnapping a woman in the Solihull area on Sunday.
The woman – who the force says is known to Martin – managed to escape to safety after only sustaining minor injuries, Birmingham Live reports.
Police say the suspect made off in a car when officers attempted to arrest him on Monday.
Officers are warning the public to call 999 and not to approach Martin if he is spotted.
The force tweeted: “We’re urgently searching for Lee Martin, 41, who is wanted on suspicion of stabbing and kidnapping a woman in the Solihull area on Sunday (5 September).
“The woman – who is known to Martin – managed to safely get out and thankfully her injuries were minor.”
Police added: “The suspect made off in a car when police tried to arrest him the next day. We urge anyone with information about his whereabouts not to approach him as we believe he is dangerous and could be armed but to call us on 999.”
Anyone with information about Martin’s whereabouts is being asked to call police urgently.
