The Duchess of Cambridge is known for being an avid and accomplished amateur photographer, and over the years she’s taken some of the most famous photos of her royal children.
Her latest stunning image is an eighth birthday portrait of eldest son Prince George, who is pictured beaming as he sits on top of his parents’ car.
But despite her passion for photography, it appears that George, Charlotte and Louis aren’t always keen on having their picture taken – as Kate once revealed.
During a phone call with a finalist in her Hold Still photography contest, which was published on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge YouTube channel, Kate asked if the contestant considered herself a photographer.
The contestant said: “No. Well, Mark [her husband] would say otherwise just because I do take a lot of pictures of the family.”
To which Kate replied: “It’s like me. Everyone’s like: ‘Mummy, please stop taking photographs!'”
The new photograph of George, which was released last night, was taken by Kate during a family break to Norfolk earlier this month.

In it, the young prince, who is wearing a polo-style striped top and shorts, is perched on top of a Land Rover Defender.
The photo is seen as a poignant tribute to the late Duke of Edinburgh, who had a passion for engineering and was a fan of the cars.
Philip, who died in April aged 99, regularly drove Land Rovers and during his funeral, his coffin was carried by a specially adapted Defender, which he helped design.
The photo was also posted to the official Instagram account of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, delighting royal fans – with many remarking on how the young prince looks just like his dad Prince William.
One commented on the post: “He looks more like William every day. Gorgeous boy!”
While another commented: “He’s a mini William.”
In addition, the Queen wished her great-grandson a happy birthday by reposting the picture on the official Royal Family Instagram account.
The message with it read: “Wishing Prince George a very happy birthday today.”
