Hollyoaks debuts stunning new opening titles with huge changes after deaths

Hollyoaks has kicked off a brand new era with fabulous new opening titles!

The Channel 4 soap, as fans know, often makes adjustments to its credit sequence when cast members join or depart the show.

With several mainstays having perished as part of a huge stunt week, it was perhaps inevitable that some changes would be made to the titles, but Hollyoaks has gone one step further, using the opportunity to film a whole new intro.

We’re in love with it, to be quite honest!

The community spirit of the eponymous Chester village has never been more apparent than it is in the altered sequence, with families embracing, having fun and enjoying one another’s company.

An update was certainly overdue so that it would better reflect the current storylines in the show, such as Tony and Diane Hutchinson (Nick Pickard and Alex Fletcher) now being landlord and landlady of The Dog, following the McQueens’ eviction.

The McQueens, however, still very much OWN the credits, and Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) still dons a signature red dress to finish out the new sequence.

Some things never change!

Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) crosses paths with Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas), sharing a steamy look, which is evidently a nod to the duos never-ending entanglement with one another.

Several of the serial drama’s newer characters, including Ripley Lennox (Ki Griffin), DeMarcus Westwood (Tomi Ade), Pearl Anderson (Dawn Hope), Saul (Chris Charles), Shaq Qureshi (Omar Malik) and the entire Chen-Williams clan are now included too.

Marnie Nightingale (Lysette Anthony), Sylver McQueen (David Tag) and Celeste Faroe (Andrea Ali) do not feature, after they were killed off in the devastating explosion at Salon De Thé.

Mandy Richardson, meanwhile, is no longer included. Sarah Jayne Dunn departed the show last year after a dispute with bosses regarding her OnlyFans account.

Hollyoaks airs Mondays – Fridays at 7pm on E4.
