Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff, issues fresh order to troops in Niger State to chase after bandits and criminals terrorizing the state and return their corpses and weapons to him.
COAS issued the order on Sunday during a visit to the 31st Artillery Brigade and Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) in Minna, where the TRADOC officers’ transit accommodation was commissioned.
” I am here in Niger today as part of my operation visit to 31 Artillery Brigade and TRADOC.
” I commend the troops for the job they are doing. Don’ t relent but continue and be more resolute and more decisive in dealing with criminals.
” When we engage the criminals and bandits, we kill them and bring their corpses and their weapons and that is what we will continue to do, ” he stated.
He stated that the army would continue to motivate troops by equipping them with the required resources to allow them to ensure security in the state and throughout Nigeria.
Lieutenant General Yahaya said that the visit enabled him to meet with the troops firsthand, learn about the issues they are facing, and encourage them to do their best for the good of the country.
He urged the residents to help by providing genuine information to the Army and other security organizations so that they can deal with the criminal elements in the state.
He stated; ” I urged all to lay their helping hand in the passage of accurate information to the Army and other security agencies.
” These criminals, many of them live with us.
” I want the public to operate and take it that security is everybody’ s business. With synergy, we will be able to improve in what we are doing. “
