EA has confirmed that Futties will be returning for FIFA 21 Ultimate Team via a new loading screen that went live on Wednesday.
Futties is returning to Ultimate Team in FIFA 21 for the first time since FUT 19, following EA’s decision to release Summer Heat instead of Futties in FUT 20. EA described Summer Heat as the ‘spiritual successor’ to Futties last summer.
Instead of releasing a traditional Futties squad of 20 players that go into packs, EA instead chose to ‘focus on how players can engage with the mode and build on their enthusiasm for football being back and a strong spring of FUT content.’

EA has started the FUT 21 Futties promo by launching a fan vote between two players, Dani Carvajal and Kostas Manolas, with the Spaniard converted from a RB to a LM and the Greek defender converted to a CDM.
The winner of the fan vote will be featured in a FUT 21 Futties SBC on Friday, July 16, with the winning item set to be handed an upgrade too. This could give fans a hint at what to expect from the FIFA 21 Futties promo moving forwards.
So what can fans expect to see in the FIFA 21 Ultimate Team Futties promo? Check out Mirror Football’s predictions and what to expect.
FIFA 21 Futties Predictions and What to Expect
EA has already confirmed that the popular Futties promo will be returning in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team, with the FUT 21 Futties promo set to begin on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 6pm BST.
The start date and start time of the FIFA 21 Futties promo was confirmed via a new FUT 21 loading screen that was released on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.
The Futties promo featured special award in-form pink cards that were chosen by the FIFA community. EA even described Futties as ‘FUT Oscars’ in which FUT fans get the chance to vote in a number of various categories for their favourite players.
Futties first appeared as a promo in FIFA 15, with players like Edinson Cavani, Ronaldinho, Seydou Doumbia, Ricardo Quaresma, Yaya Toure and Daniel Sturridge all receiving special Futties items, with FUT fans voting for these cards to receive the items.
The Futties promo then ran for four straight years in FIFA 16, FIFA 17, FIFA 18 and FIFA 19, before EA replaced the Futties promo in FIFA 20, releasing the Summer Heat promo instead.
Also included in the promo were engagement reward packs, re-released of popular SBCs, re-releases of special items from previous FUT campaigns, promo packs and more.
By starting the FUT 21 Futties promo with a fan vote, it seems likely that the promo will follow the pattern of previous Futties promos from FIFA 15 onwards, so expect fan votes between popular players, engagement packs, position changes, re-releases of SBCs and maybe even a ‘best of’ pack release.
So here’s what to expect from the FUT 21 Futties promo:
- Pack Offers
- Themed Objectives
- Themed Players Items – Re-release of special items from select campaigns available in Packs
- Themed Players Items available via SBCs – Upgraded FUTTIES winners from different categories
- Themed Squad Building Challenges – Re-release of popular SBCs
- Loyalty Offers – Free Offers according to how many times you have logged in
But of course, nothing has been confirmed by EA yet in regards to the upcoming FUT 21 Futties promo, so fans will have to wait until Friday, July 16 to find out exactly what the Futties FIFA 21 Ultimate Team has in store.
