EPL: Paul Merson predicts Man City vs Chelsea, Man United vs Aston Villa, Arsenal, others

Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has predicted the outcome of some Premier League match-day 22 games.

Manchester City will take on Chelsea on Saturday, while Aston Villa will host Manchester United.

Tottenham will tackle Arsenal on Sunday and Liverpool will face Brentford.

Providing his predictions, Merson told Sportskeeda: “This is a massive game, but if you look at the table, Manchester City could probably lose this one and still go on to win the title. Manchester City 2-1 Chelsea.”

On the Aston Villa vs Manchester United game, Merson said, “Manchester United are currently all over the place and I called this a long time ago.

“I’m worried for Manchester United, I really am and it’ll be unbelievable if they secure a top-four finish. There’s been lots said about them, particularly about Cristiano Ronaldo, but I still think he should still start. Aston Villa 3-1 Manchester United.”

On the Liverpool vs Brentford tie, Merson said, “Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will be unavailable for Liverpool due to their involvement in the 2022 AFCON, but they should still have miles too much for Brentford, so I expect them to win this one comfortably. Liverpool 3-0 Brentford.”

Speaking on the Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal tie, Merson said, “This is a massive game, I’ve played in enough of these to know that. I think the tide has changed a little bit this season, so I fancy Arsenal to win this one. Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Arsenal.”
