EastEnders confirms return for Ash Panesar

We may have seen Ash Panesar head out of Walford after a bitter showdown with mum Suki (Balvinder Sopal) but EastEnders bosses have assured Metro.co.uk that we haven’t seen the last of the character.

Viewers had wondered if Gurlaine Kaur had departed the role for good, in an unannounced exit. Previously, a departure of Iqra Ahmed had been in an unexpected blink and you will miss it moment.

But while family divides have driven Ash away for now, Gurlaine is merely on a break.

An insider told us: ‘It’s not the case that Gurlaine has left the show for good; Ash is very much an important part of Albert Square

‘It’s understandable for fans not to know whether a character has gone for good and that’s often the intention with some storylines.

‘But Ash is definitely coming back for round two with Suki! She hasn’t quit or been written out.’

Ash has often clashes with her mum and when she found out she had slept with Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson), it was the final straw for her.

Nurse Ash also recently shared electric scenes with Eve Unwin (Heather Peace), setting speculation alight that there could be romantic feelings in the air.

Ash will be back later in the year and who knows how the land will lie with family dramas by then…

Can she and Suki make amends or will things continue to get worse?
