EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt has been speaking about whether he’d return to the soap as Ian Beale.

Ian was last seen in Walford back in January 2021. He departed life in Albert Square after Sharon (Letitia Dean) discovered he was responsible locking Dennis in a room on a party boat before his death.

Convinced Dennis would still be alive if Ian hadn’t locked him in, Sharon set about planning revenge, poisoning Ian’s dinner in the hope of killing him.

Away from his role as Ian Beale, Adam was seen on our screens last year as part of the I’m A Celebrity cast.

On Sunday (January 9), Adam appeared on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch and obviously, it wasn’t long until topic of conversation turned to his iconic character and whether he’d reprise the role.

‘I don’t know. It’s not just my decision to make, it’s also EastEnders. I left because of the way the storyline was going, because Ian needed to go. Not me going, “I want to leave”, or them saying, “you’re going!” that was the storyline’.

Travelling around the UK in a campervan, Adam is certainly enjoying himself as he explained to Simon Rimmer and Miquita Oliver.

‘I’m having the time of my life! I’m having a fantastic time! They’ve got to come up with a storyline, they’ve got to ask me to go back, the timing has got to be right for me to go back because I don’t know what else I’m going to be doing’.
