Sally Dynevor is set to be the latest Corrie star to take on Dancing On Ice on Sunday night and she’s revealed just how much support she’s had from co-stars already via a WhatsApp group.
The soap legend, 58, has been paired up with veteran pro skater Matt Evers during her stint and is hoping to impress viewers enough to sail through the competition.
Luckily, it seems she’s already got plenty of people backing her to go far, including some of her fellow cast members from the ITV soap.
Speaking on This Morning to Dermot O’Leary and Josie Gibson ahead of her first skate on Sunday night, she revealed how much advice she’s had from her colleagues so far.
‘You’re not the only Corrie actor or actress who’s been on Dancing On Ice, have you had any advice from any colleagues?’ Josie asked.
Sally responded: ’Oh Josie I have, and do you know what? I’ve watched every single YouTube video of Brooke [Vincent] and Jane [Danson] and Samia [Longchambon], I’ve watched them all.
‘They were so, so good, I’ve got a really difficult thing to follow, they’ve all been amazing.’
She went on to add: ‘They’ve all been so supportive, we’ve got a little Corrie DOI WhatsApp group now.
‘The support has been so brilliant and I just hope on Sunday I call pull it a little bit out of the bag!’
Sally – who has remained a part of Corrie since 1996 – has never skated before and is clearly feeling the nerves.
‘My real problem is the confidence thing,’ she told the This Morning hosts, admitting she was struggling to ‘let go’ over her partner Matt.
She continued: ‘I am struggling with my confidence. I’m just hoping that as this journey goes along, if I get the opportunity, I’ll find a little bit more confidence every week.
‘I just need to get through Sunday night!’
